April Instructor Highlight – Lee B. Farris CPM®, CCIM®, CMCA®

Mr. Farris attended the University of Houston receiving a B.B.A. in Finance in 1974. He was awarded his CPM® (Certified Property Manager) designation from the Institute of Real Estate in 1979, his CCIM (Certified Commercial Investment Member) designation in 2004, his CMCA (Certified Manager of Community Associations) designation in 2006 and is a licensed real estate broker in Arizona (License No. BR008509000) and Texas (License No. 298702). In addition, Mr. Farris has been an instructor at the Arizona School of Real Estate for the past 15 years.
Lee has been involved in the leasing and property management field since 1974. He began his career with Gerald D. Hines Interests, in Houston, Texas, where he was involved in the growth of Hines from a local Houston company to an international company. He opened the Grubb & Ellis Property Services office in Houston, Texas, and was responsible for the implementation and development of all of the third-party property management capability in Texas.
He has successfully formed and administered a REO division for a two-billion-dollar Texas saving and loan, and he has opened and developed third-party management capabilities for other local and national firms, including Trammell Crow, Perini Investment Properties and Eagle Western Management Company.
Mr. Farris has been involved in the management of office, retail and industrial properties ranging in size from less than 25,000 to more than 1,800,000 square feet. In addition, Mr. Farris has overseen portfolios of apartment projects ranging in sizes up to 5,000 units, and the management of HOA developments as large as 20,000 acres. He has managed office condominiums and property owner associations as large as 100,000 square feet and over 1,750 acres, respectively. Mr. Farris has developed commercial real estate, and consulted in the development and leasing of numerous projects.
Lee formed Farrmont Realty Group, Inc., AMO® in 1994 and has grown the company into a successful third-party property management company. The company has developed, managed and leased properties throughout Arizona. It currently manages and leases properties in Phoenix and Tucson, Arizona, and continues to successfully expand its third-party property management client base each year.
Lee also served two tours in Vietnam in 1968 and 1969.
