January 2019 – Letter From the Publisher
January 1, 2019
President, Arizona Journal of Real Estate & Business
First and foremost, happy New Year! I trust you all enjoyed the holiday season to its fullest. Now, you’re ready to put your best foot forward and kick off a successful 2019. As you seek guidance in the world of real estate, I encourage you to continue looking to the Arizona School of Real Estate and Business as your guidepost. ASREB offers countless resources and seminars to best prepare you for your desired or current career. In this issue of the Journal, and at our January seminar, you’ll learn the intricacies of navigating an investment in tax liens.
For those who are new to the field, a property-tax lien is a legal claim against a property for unpaid property taxes. The tax lien prohibits a property from being sold or refinanced until the taxes are paid and the lien is removed. As an investor in the tax lien, you’re sold a certificate at auction and given the right to collect the lien, plus interest, from the property owner. It’s also important to note that interest rates can vary by state.
Before you consider investing in tax liens, it’s important to know all the facts. It can be a difficult field of real estate to navigate, but taking the time to understand the jeopardies and what it takes to be successful, will help you greatly in the long run. I hope you will join us for our Tax Liens seminar on January 18th, where you’ll learn the risks and payoffs of investing in tax liens from experts in the industry. You won’t want to miss hearing from local experts about the best-kept secrets of this type of an investment.
If you’re hoping to make 2019 your best year yet, it’s vital to have a strong pulse on what you consider to be success.
